Not every cake smash session theme has to be super specific or personal. Sometimes when you have a fall birthday, the best theme is a seasonal one! I love everything about fall, so I was super excited to design this set for this sweet little guy.

I filled his set with pumpkins and fall leaves and warm colors. Even though the weather here in Cincinnati hasn’t quite decided to feel like fall, it sure did in my studio that day!

And when big sister comes along to the session, you know we needed to grab a few pictures of them together and her by herself! Apparently she told her parents she did not want to get her picture taken, but once she was in the studio she wanted to do everything little brother was doing!

What goes better with fall than a good wooden bucket? I have had this bucket for years and year and it is still one of my favorite props for this age. It’s the perfect size for a mobile one year old and fit perfectly with our theme!

Then it was time for CAKE!

Mr. O was quick to dig in. I think he liked the way the frosting felt between his fingers!

It wasn’t long before he tasted the goods. He preferred just playing with the cake, but that is totally okay! The frosting was really sweet and I’m not sure he knew how he felt about that.

He made sure to let us know when he was done. And hey, it was his party and he can cry if he wants to. (Don’t worry, he only cried for a moment and then we got him all cleaned up and he was happy again.)
