Every once in a while, I get a newborn in the studio and I am just floored at how pretty they are. My own babies were awkward little aliens when they were born. (Don’t worry, they are super adorable big kids now). But this little lady stole my heart with those cheeks and her delicate features. I was so thrilled to have her in the studio for her newborn session!

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing this little lady’s family since her older brother was about six months old. And now that little chubby baby boy is a big brother! Watching families grow is something I don’t take for granted and I’m always honored to be a spectator.

Accommodating client requests for sessions is something I am always happy to do. But I must admit, I love when a client tells me “whatever you think is best” when it comes to planning newborn sessions. Mom said she loved purples and mint greens but left all the details up to me. I have a whole rainbow of backdrops and swaddles and accessories in my studio and I love being able to mix and match and create a color scheme. It just so happens that purple is my favorite color too!

Most of my collection of backdrops and wraps come from my favorite vendor – Hello Little Props. Their fabrics and accessories are created with newborn photography as their purpose. I can always be confident knowing their products will photograph beautifully!

Newborn sessions are my favorite type of photography to shoot. My own kids are big now (they are 14, 11, and 8 years old) so getting to snuggle and smell the babies that come into my studio is extra special. I’ve had the privilege of shooting more than 300 newborns over the years and I have loved every minute of it!
