I’m pretty sure fall is every photographers favorite season. And when I’m not outdoors enjoying the weather and the fall colors, I love being able to bring fall into the studio. So I was super excited to plan a pumpkin themed cake smash for Miss Leslie! We decided on a fun girly twist to her theme and went with pink and white pumpkins.

Is she not the cutest little thing in that tutu and sequin bow? Miss L was all smiles from the moment her family walked in the door of my studio and I knew it was going to be a great session!

And then it was time for CAKE!

After a few regular portraits it was time for the real fun! Miss L had a strawberry cake with pink icing that was made by a family friend. It was an adorable cake and it smelled amazing!

Miss L was a little hesitant at first. She kept looking at us skeptically. I’m not sure she was convinced she was allowed to just dig in.

It didn’t take her long to warm up to the idea. Pretty soon there was frosting everywhere!

One thing I always have on hand for cake smash sessions are big spoons. It’s not uncommon for babies to be a little uncomfortable with messy fingers. A nice big spoon helps them really get into their cake and make a mess!

I love grabbing shots of messy baby toes. Almost every baby ends up putting their feet in their cake during a cake smash session and it makes me laugh every time. So cute!

Miss L did a good job with her cake and was such a happy little thing. I am so honored to have been the one to photograph her big milestone! I had a blast photographing her!
