School is out and summer is here! In theory the days should be full of kids playing outdoors in the sprinkler and finding bugs. We should be splashing in puddles and visiting the park to fly kites. We will go fishing at the lake with no one complaining. It will be a magical summer, right?
Or maybe not…
While I am sure we will have magical days, maybe your kids are like mine and most of the summer is spent complaining that they are bored, asking for snacks, fighting, and causing my house to be a perpetual disaster. And there will be screens – lots and lots of screens. Which means I become activities director for my three hooligans and I am *constantly* on the lookout for fun adventures in the area – particularly ones that are free or cheap.
This year a couple friends of mine banded together and we started a calendar or local summer events. We have kids ranging in age from toddlers to older teens, so between us all there should be a good mix of events. I’ve even included some adult centered events that I think will be fun. I am super excited about the Columbus Book Festival in July (check out all those details here: https://www.columbusbookfestival.org/
It is going to be an amazing resource for me, and I wanted to share it with the world. So, here you go!
