This sweet toddler came to visit me for his 18 month milestone session. I first met this sweet guy last year for his six month session. Back then he wasn’t even quite sitting up yet. One year later and he is walking and climbing on things and playing catch with me and his mom! What a difference a year makes!

When he first came through the door this time, he was pretty unsure of me. All he wanted to do was sit with his mom and bury his head in her shoulder. Little by little he started to peek at me and my squeaky toys. And the books I keep in my studio caught his attention. So while he was warming up to the new environment I kept my distance and just got some images of him on my couch.

Eventually he was ready to come into my shooting area and check out what we had going on. I mean, throwing a ball around the studio was a pretty good motivator like it is with most toddlers! Luckily my big light wasn’t too scary and soon we were good friends!

And then the real fun began when we added in a stepstool to climb on and toy dinos to play with!

This guy had the biggest smile. His whole face just lit up and you couldn’t help but smile too! And isn’t that dinosaur hoodie just like iconic toddler apparel?!?

I love a good contrast-y image and this color blue is my favorite color backdrop! It photographs so beautifully and when I saw this adorable sweater I knew it would be the perfect compliment! And of *course* we had to get some shirtless images of this sweet toddler too! Toddlers loose that baby look way too fast, but this guy still had a lot of that baby magic left. And I love capturing those toddler tummies in their natural state!

I had the best time catching up with this guy and his mom! I can’t wait to see him again next year!
